Week 3-4
Purpose: inform about the enrolled courses of a semester in a
university timetable, using the alphabet, numbers, times and days
of the week.
Prompt: this is your first semester in ITM and you must organize
your university timetable/schedule to remember when and where
to go to take each course. Complete your own weekly university
timetable according to:
- Time of the courses/numbers
- Days of the week
- Rooms and campuses
- Subjects
Resources related: the written or audio texts you provide to
extract the information must contain:
Lexicon: alphabet, numbers (ordinal and cardinal), days of the
week, months, hours, time, school subjects and punctuation.
Syntax: present simple (I have class at..., I have class in room …,
My _____ class is in ...), articles (a, an, the), personal pronouns,
possessive pronouns,
Week 5-6
Purpose: recognize and use greeting and farewell expressions in
different formal and informal contexts.
Prompt: it is your first day at the university and you have to face
two different situations: 1. Greet people you already know
(friends) and 2. Meet new people (classmates, employees,
professors, others). According to the situation, in the role play you
have to consider the following:
- Formal or informal greetings
- Formal or informal farewells
- Names/nicknames (word spelling)
- Numbers (age)
Resources related: the written or audio texts you provide to
extract the information must contain:
Lexicon: greetings and farewells, titles, cardinal numbers in
context: I’m ____ years old, we are in twenty eighteen, etc.
Syntax: present simple (I am Marcela, my nickname is..., I am 30
years old) expressions in different formal and informal contexts
(Hello, Hi, What’s up? How is everything? Good
morning/afternoon/evening, How is your day? How have you
been? Nice to meet you / Nice to meet you too, it is my pleasure,
what’s up, what’s going on? All good?, yo!!, hey!, hi there, see you
around, see ya!, laters, see you later alligator, etc., ), pronouns.
